Fr Morgan Batt entered Pius XII Provincial Seminary in 1985 and was ordained 29 November 1991.

On 11 March 2002 Morgan Batt enlisted in the Army Reserve as Chaplain and later enlisted full time. He has served on deployments to Timor Leste 2006, and Iraq 2007 (and Afghanistan). During his time in Iraq he worked closely with the USA troops and was awarded the US Army Meritorious Medal of Commendation for his services. He was awarded the 1st Division Commanders Commendation (Silver) 2008 for services to the Royal Australian Regiment. He continues now as a reserve chaplain as Queensland Staff Chaplain.

Fr Morgan is also a well-known outdoor adventurer. He is a noted International Alpine Mountaineer having summited the North Face of Everest and climbed on thousands of mountains around the world. His aim in mountaineering is to summit the highest peak of every nation and major territory in the world of which his count is 324 summits with 187 of the World’s 201 Countries.
