Accredited Mediator | Counsellor

It is a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together | To be so blessed

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of counselling and mediation. Clients entrust me with their stories, and together, we are able to navigate through challenges, unearth solutions, and adopt positive change. This collaborative process has not only shaped my professional journey but has also reinforced my belief in the resilience of the human spirit.

As a Mediator/ Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, (registered with the Attorney Generals Department | Issuing of 60i Certificate) I employ a personalized and adaptable methodology that ensures my clients receive tailored support, nurturing a deeper connection and more effective outcomes for their parenting and property matters.

Shifting Tides has developed a program to ‘consciously uncouple’ through bespoke reunification therapy and co-parenting programs, that supports families at every stage of their relationship challenges.

As I reflect on my years of business and experiential learning, I am grateful for the opportunities to contribute to the well-being of others. My journey has been marked by continuous learning, refinement of skills, and a steadfast commitment to providing empathetic and effective counselling and mediation services.

Marie Kelly

Marie Kelly

Accredited Mediator | Registered FDRP

As a Nationally Accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner I am passionate about assisting parents to resolve their parenting issues with dignity and respect. I genuinely believe families should only find themselves in the court system as the absolute last resort. There are so many positive and constructive ways to resolve parenting matters before entering the court system. One pathway to resolution for parents is through Family Dispute Resolution (FDR).

My family mediation practice is based on a facilitative, problem-solving model. A gentle and thoughtful style where you will be supported throughout the process. You will be given the space to tell your story, without interruption, enabling you to feel heard and gain confidence in the process. The basic premise is based upon respecting each person in the room.

Clients are encouraged to attend mediation with an open-mind, a view to participate fully, engage in open and honest dialogue, be flexible with their thinking and be prepared to actively listen to each other, particularly where children are involved. In this way, you will make the most of the opportunity that mediation offers.
